Historical evolution
Qiu chengdun was a Neolithic site, which was composed of Majiabang culture, Songze culture and Liangzhu culture. During the Liangzhu culture period, high sacrificial platforms were built on the site and high platform cemeteries were built to form mounds higher than the ground. Therefore, during the Warring States period, large tombs were built with mounds as high as the ground.
